Gaunts Lake is part of the Guys Lake Syndicate and is one of the best-known Syndicate waters within the famous Linear Fisheries complex in Oxfordshire. Situated near Witney in the heart of the UK carp fishing scene, the lake has built a strong reputation for producing quality carp, consistent action, and excellent year-round angling opportunities. Originally excavated as a gravel pit, the lake has matured into a highly attractive venue featuring reed-lined margins, gravel bars, plateaus, overhanging trees, and deep open-water areas that provide ideal habitat for specimen carp.

Alongside the carp stock, the lake also holds tench, roach, and rud , helping create a naturally balanced ecosystem. Regular fish stocking and careful management continue to support healthy growth rates and excellent fish condition.

Successful anglers on Gaunts Lake often focus on accurate bait placement around gravel bars, marginal shelves, and visible fish activity.
